This made me think about your line, "We are fifteen again, standing in a hallway somewhere, hoping to be chosen."

I think that's what disappointment often uncovers—not just what's happening now, but the places in us that still long to be wanted. Thank you for the gentle reminder that God's invitation is to love freely without carrying what was never ours to hold. 🤍

The line, "You can love someone deeply and still release them," really touched my heart. That is such a difficult lesson, especially when the relationship is one we desperately want to be different. I also loved your reminder that guarding our hearts isn't about building walls, but about recognizing what belongs to us and what belongs to God. There is so much freedom in releasing people into His hands and trusting Him with what we cannot change. Thank you for this honest and hope filled reminder. I think many people will feel seen by these words.
